We decide which one suits your building when we assess it — slope, exposure, roof shape and how long you plan to keep the place.

We measure the roof before we price it. We take the slope in more than one place, look at the deck wherever we can see it, and work out whether the existing ventilation meets the 1/300 of ceiling area the code asks for.

Then we write it all down: the covering, the underlay, where we put eave and valley protection and how far up the slope it runs, how we hit the ventilation target, every flashing by location, what we do with the old material, our rate for deck repair beyond what is included, and what we have left out. You are paying for what is on that page, line by line.

We see the same things over and over here. Moss holding on the north slope under second-growth fir all winter. Soffits packed with blown-in insulation, leaving a ridge vent with nothing to draw from. Exposed lots facing open water where the wind and driving rain work on one elevation from October to April. Your edge details, closures, and drainage must withstand coastal weather. We inspect your attic and flashings along with your shingles.

Our roofers are Red Seal certified — the trade takes three years, nearly 5,000 hours on the tools and 15 weeks in the classroom. We carry WorkSafeBC coverage and liability insurance, and we will send you a clearance letter whenever you would like to see one.
